Making the connection: About DarkSun and company.

In 2005, our DarkSun director, and Mavelin CEO was a stay-at-home mom, college student, and devoted helper to her husband's construction company. With his health failing, and years of corporate experience under her belt, Tamayco decided to combine her passion of all things web, and her ability as a corporate purchasing agent  to good use, with an online store. The first year was difficult. There were many hurdles to overcome such as, finding a dedicated web developer, an ecommerce solution that really worked, and a balance for her family while accomplishing her goals.

It's 2008. We have made so many friends, met so many wonderful people who are willing to help a startup, that thanking them all here would be impossible - but they know how much we appreciate all the help.

How we adopted such a diverse product line:

When we started out, we concentrated primarily on print, web, and graphic design and web development. Over time, we made connections with manufacturers in China, South Africa, and Thailand. As our connections grew, our product line grew. As a result of extensive pricing research, marketing, quality testing (on every product we sell), and customer feedback, we have settled on a catalog of products that meets the needs of a wide range of people. Within our store you will literally find something for everyone.

Nuun Gems Jewelry

We are so pleased to announce this partnership with Nuun Gems Jewelry, and owner Aida has been gracious enough to let us host some of her most exquisite pieces in our store. For many years, Aida has been personally hand-selecting loose gems, gold, silver, and semi-precious gems on her numerous trips to Thailand. Many of the pieces we have for you are limited edition, never to to be seen again, so if you see something you love - don't let it get away. Partnering with Nuun Gems allows us to offer you top of the line jewelry for a fair price.

White Moon Jewelry

White Moon Jewelry is a lovely shop, run by the unbelievably talented Valerie Baker. One of her jewelry sets was presented as a gift to our director, and the rest is history. After Tamayco found out Valerie was not currently selling her jewelry to the public, the two worked out the details and White Moon Jewelry was born. White Moon uses semi-precious stones, silver, gold plate, and features Swarovski crystals. The designs are all the brain-children of Valerie herself - and she is a design genius.

We add products every week to expand our selection to you. The DarkSun brand is dedicated to saving you money on high quality merchandise, and making you a repeat customer. Director & CEO: Tamayco Davis

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Principle Designer, writer, editor and web developer. Tamayco is a student at the University of Phoenix, with a major in Business Admin. She is a writer, artist, and internet entrepreneur. Tamayco manages her two companies, and her husbands business, and acts as principle designer for DarkSun. Mother of three girls, aged 3, 4, 16. Wife of Vincent, owner of Midwest Construction. Tamayco currently resides in Brookfield Mass, also business headquarters, with her husband, three girls, and two feisty kitties.

Nuun Gems Jewelry Founder & CEO

Aida currently resides in Connecticut, and is the author of over a dozen historical fiction, poetry, and nonfiction works. She is the founder and CEO of Aida Book Company, and Nuun Gems Jewelry - both privately held companies. Publisher, author,  jeweler, and award-winning artist, Aida also finds time for learning, and is a senior at a Massachusetts University. Aida is also the mother of four, grown children, and lives with her faithful companion, Zookie.

Vice President of Marketing  & Design

Famous in her own  right, Patricia is the retired Dean of Admissions to the Museum School in Boston, former Montserrat Director of Admissions, and an accomplished artist. She has spent her life in the service of others, and brings with her a wealth of knowledge about marketing, the art world, and the psychology of business. She is the mother of 5 grown children, 8 grandchildren, and resides with her books, her art and her work in Woodstock Connecticut.

Lone Star Design: Architecture; 3D Modeling and Advanced Graphic Design

Van DeHart, Owner of Lone Star Design, is currently working on his own company's projects, as well as a full-time position as a lead architect at a Boston firm. Van collaborates with DarkSun, to expand our graphic design offerings - giving our customers more options and choices. Need a house designed and built? With Lone Star Design and an exclusive partnership with Midwest Construction, you have access to licensed experts with sterling local reputations.

White Moon Jewelry Owner, Valerie Baker

Creating jewelry in her rustic New England home started out as a hobby for Valerie Baker, but, as interest in her jewelry grew, so did her business. Though Val is new to the jewelry business, White Moon Jewelry stands out in the crowd. Val took her love of great and unique jewelry, and created jewelry she would be proud to wear. She is a perfectionist, and one of the most innovative and cutting edge jewelry designers we have ever come across. Similar to our own style of procurement, Valerie handpicks the finest beads and findings, manufactured both in North America and the Far East. Alone, with hand tools and eyeglass, she handcrafts each piece herself, working tirelessly to bring you the beautiful jewelry you see in our store. Valerie is a college graduate, and accounting executive for a large firm in Rhode Island. She has a degree in hairdressing, was a successful restauranteur on Cape Cod in the early nineties, and is arguably one of the smartest and kindest people we've met. Valerie lives with her fiance, Jeff, two dogs - Sam & Sugar, and cat Ralphie, in Woodstock Connecticut.
